And, just for fun, send me your own personal picks for top beauties of the last century. We’ll tally them up! This is serious business.

  1. From the 30’s:
    Irene Dunne
    Lauren Bacall
    Dorothy Dandridge
    Elizabeth Taylor
    Faye Dunaway
    Jessica Lange
    Annette Benning
    Jennifer Connelly

    • THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS LIST–AGREE WITH MANY OF YOUR CHOICES…LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU LIST DUNNE WHO IN THE 30S WAS VOTED BY A LIST OF PROMINENT ARTISTS ETC AS HAVING THE MOST PERFECT NOSE IN HOLLYWOOD

  2. CLEARLY you haven’t seen either my mother or myself! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Anyway, I quite like some of your choices. And while I’ve never been into “the most /enter adjective of choice/” game, I’d just like to add a few personal favourites of mine, in no particular (not even chronological) order:

    * Rita Hayworth (OK, so she had her hairline electrolysed. It worked!)

    * Cleo de Merode

    * Lilian Russell

    * Catherine Zeta Jones (pre-Hollywood and early Hollywood)

    * Natalie Wood

    * Brigitte Bardot

    * Brooke Shields (oh yeah)

    * Jacqueline Bissett

    * Olivia de Havilland (especially cca 1938)

    * Kim Cattrall (cca 1982)

    * Olivia Hussey

    I also happen to think Dolores Hart was as cute as a button, yet in a very womanly way.

    And there are myriads more, the face and names of whom now escape me, but they’ll come back to me them as soon as I surf away… ๐Ÿ™‚

    What do YOU think about my choices?

  3. P.S.

    Add Jean Simmons and Ashley Judd to the list!

  4. i love carmen, wish you could find pictures of her at the kennedy center honors 2009.. she was so beautiful..!! let me know.

  5. WAIT! Geoffrey Holder is married!?
    Moving on–I would choose Blanchett over Jolie. Crawford/Dietrich over Garbo and add Suzanne Pleshette/Lena Horne/Faye Dunaway/Dorothy Dandridge/Donyale Luna/Iman in no particular order except that’s who comes to mind right off the bat…

  6. the great thing about jennifier connelly is that she still looks hot eventhough she is already a bit old these days ‘
